Today is day 6 on the specials calendar.
The specials schedule will resume as normal.
Congratulations to Mrs. Bland and team (Mr. Solis and others) for an excellent Middle school orientation program last night. Principals and staff members from local middle schools presented information for 5th grade students and parents and the turnout was excellent !
The staff workday for Monday is 8:00-3:30. If you are planning to take annual leave, call the absence reporting line(sub system) before Monday. Also, indicate your plans on the sign up sheet in the office. Doing so will help Mrs. Sawyer get payroll accurate. No one would want to be charged a leave day by mistake.
Extended time line: Report cards are due no later than Wednesday, January 27.
Please notify the appropriate administrator when your report cards are downloaded to the R drive for review.
Websites should be updated by Monday, January 25.
Thanks to everyone for your hard work for EOQ's, "Dibbling" and all other critical assessments done each quarter. Everyone has been flexible regarding schedule changes and it is appreciated by all. For the next few days, EOQ make ups will be taking place but the disruption will be limited. PRT's, Title 1 and other support staff will be used for make up testing-please review Mrs. Scott's email from yesterday.
Don't forget to give names of students who are experiencing difficulty to Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Dooley so you can get the proper number of letters to send in report cards.
Finally, despite the schedule changes this week, now is the time that supervision and rigor should most definitely be taking place in all classrooms. Yesterday was unusually "busy" with students not demonstrating Gibson pride. Certainly the students must be held accountable but maintaining rigorous lessons and well defined supervision will make help sure students stay where they are needed-in the classroom.

Today is day 5 of the specials calendar.
EOQ testing continues. The office will announce when testing has concluded. Please do not call test administrators to see if they are finished. Please contact the office to see if your special will be held on schedule. I do know that tomorrow most of the test administrators for mod groups will have to do additional answer sheet prep (bubbling, etc). Just because testing is finished, it may not mean all specialists are available for class. Call the office.
All staff members are expected to indicate the time they arrive at school when they sign in the mornings. Administrators will contact anyone who forgets to put the time down beside their name. This expectation is new, I know, but takes effect immediately.
Please indicate by Friday if you will be working on Monday, January 25. Any leave other than annual leave must be approved by Mr. Davis.
Homeroom teachers, please let the administrator reviewing your report cards when you have downloaded your report cards to the R drive.
Classroom teachers, remember to sign up for planning days.
Website are due to be updated on or before January 25.
Don't forget to review Mrs. Scott's and Mrs. Dooley's blogs for important curriculum updates:

Today is day 4 on the specials calendar.

Please remember to not call classrooms during testing. We will announce when testing is concluded. Some specialists are test administrators with mod groups so testing may end for them at a different time. Please call the office to determine when a particular special will start.
Sign up in the office to indicate your plans for January 25. Any leave other than annual leave must be approved in advance by Mr. Davis. If you plan to take January 25, make sure required assignments are turned in first.

Classroom teachers that missed yesterday's meeting received a handout in your mailbox. Make sure that handout is completed prior to our next staff meeting.

Today is day 3 on the specials calendar.
EOQ testing for grades 3-5.
Staff meeting today after buses leave.
PLC meetings will resume next week.
Encourage students to participate in our PBS raffles. Continue to give plenty of den dollars for following Gibson core values.
Please sign up to participate in MC Teacher's night next Thursday. It is always a lot of fun.
Just as it's important to assess students along the way to determine progress, It's also necessary for us a staff to assess and reflect on where we are and what we can do to continually move forward. It's my intent to provide all staff with a survey similar to the FCAE climate survey sometime in February. The purpose of the survey will be to gather data and provide remediation if necessary (just kidding!).
I really what to see what's on everyone's mind and determine what we can do as administrators to continually improve our work environment.
