Today is day 1 on the specials calendar.

Today we shall have our PBS "booster" assemblies to remind and review with students and staff PBS expectations and our core values. The program will be very exciting with some surprises along the way. Please remember to bring your den dollars so you can help distribute them to students showing Gibson pride. The program for K-2 students will start at 9:00 and for 3-5 students the program will start at 10:00. Specialists will monitor and take students to program as applicable. (Based on the times it looks like specialists will take first grade students to the gym and remain for the K specials-specialists will have regular class for second graders)

Ron at principal meeting this morning.
PBS has some FANTASTIC RAFFLES this month-bicycles step teams and basketball clinics. The kids will really get excited about these prizes. Please remember to give out plenty of earned den dollars to pump up behavior.

PTA NEWS
To anyone who would like to submit a proposal to the PTA for funding for materials or an activity-the deadline to submit forms is January 29th. Once you have submitted the forms, a representative from your group must come to the Feb 9 PTA board meeting at 6 pm to present your proposal. It doesn't have to be extensive, just be able to tell about what you want.
The annual sweetheart fundraiser will kickoff on January 27. Forms and money will be collected through Feb 11.
To classroom teachers: a new part of the teacher evaluation instrument is a mid year review of your PDP goals. This requirement is for all teachers, whether you are on the summative cycle or not. The administrator responsible for your evaluation will be contacting you to set up a brief conference. Please be prepared to talk about what progress you have made toward your goal(s) and have any artifacts you may want to share (lesson plans or unit plans, student work, etc).
Please sign up for the photoshop workshop on-line for February 1st. These workshops are very important for anyone needing tech credits.

I will begin sharing with everyone their individual attendance profiles. Sometimes we don't keep track of absences for one reason or another. After so many sick day absences, staff are required to provide a doctor's note. Many of you provide doctors' notes anyway-no problem. Please review staff handbook for details.
The PTA has money to provide to grade levels and or committees for activities and or materials. The process is very simple and much quicker than waiting for me to find money or get approval from other sources. The form and explanations are on the website homepage.
