Today is day 4 on the specials calendar.
Any treats for Valentines' Day should be given out at snack time, lunch time or end of the day. Please maintain instructional time. Any videos or movies should be no longer than 30 minutes. ( no full length movies).
Please let custodians know if you have food left in your trash can. We need to empty it before the weekend starts, we don't want any 4 legged weekend guests to get a good meal.
Any absences for Monday, February 15 will be excused and recorded but will not count against a child's perfect attendance record. In other words, If a child comes to school every other day this school year but misses February 15-they still would receive perfect attendance recognition. This directive is straight from the superintendent.

Here is the explanation of the calendar change due to Monday now becoming a student day. If you can follow this explanation, your IQ is higher than you realize:
February 5 (last snow day) becomes the designated Break day that was scheduled for March 31.
The student make up day is now February 15. The Rs day for February 15 is now scheduled for March 30. The Rsv day scheduled for March 30 replaces the B day that was March 31. Staff may choose to have AL used for that day. If you got all that and your brain didn't explode, you are a genius. For the rest of us, let me bottom line it..Students come to school Monday, March 30 is a work day and March 31-April 2 is Spring break.
PBS reminder-Students must have a hall pass if they are in the hall without their class.
PTA Valentine fundraiser will be extended until February 26.

Today is day 2 on the specials
Last night, WSFCS school board voted to make this Monday, February 15 to become a student day instead of a teacher workday.
Staff and students will report to school as regular barring any bad weather. This change was made in order to not use March 30 as a student make up day and preserve more of spring break for students and staff.
We will operate on a two hour delay today. Staff will report at regular time. Specials start at 12:20. Students will be sent directly to the room at 9:50. Math and Reading must be taught even if you have to reshuffle your schedule. Recess inside or outside may be skipped today-especially outside with the high wind warnings-students do not need to go outside today anyway.
There will not be a staff meeting on February 23.
Progress reports go home February 24. Interim reports on March 2.
Make up days are June 9, 10 and March 29. March 30 is still a workday and students do not attend school unless we are out again for weather. Think no snow !

PTA board meeting-6pm.
If you have a request for PTA funds, please be prepared to present your proposal.
We would like to offer Saturday Academy in the Month on March.
The tutoring will take place each Saturday in March from 9-12 each morning.
The tutoring will be open to 3-5 first, then depending on tutor availability and interest, it may be opened up to other grades. If you are interested. give me your name. The details have yet to be determined-just trying to gauge support right now.
