Comprehension skill of the week: Summarizing
Marzano strategy of the week: Reinforcing effort. Please include indications of the skills in lesson plans this week.
Please Kendra and Kim's blog at least once a week to get important updates and ideas. All Blogs started by staff members are listed on the Gibson homepage.
Please give to the United Way fund raising drive. The United way committee has a lot of great incentives for your participation. As a matter of fact, Ron will be teaching all day today for April Murray as a winner of a drawing due to her contributions to the United Way.

October 27-Report card training for all homeroom teachers
October 29-Rc day
October 30-Rsv day, report cards due to be reviewed.
This month, there will also be training for 3-5 teachers on using Classscapes, the on-line assessment tool aligned to the NCSCOS. The training will most likely involve getting a number of subs. More details to come.
All K-2 teachers should provide their plan for progress monitoring for high risk students as indicated by DIBELS assessment to Kim Dooley as soon as possible.
PBS corner-Raffle for the Popcorn and and a movie will start this week. Right now the plan is to show the movie on Friday, October 16 from 9-10:30. More details will be given later this week.
