Remember, not only will you gain great skills, but these sessions will help you meet license requirements for tech credits.
Committee assignments were sent out on email yesterday. A corrected copy with very minor changes will be sent today. Please check your email.
PBS questions of the day-How do Specialists use the classroom discipline forms?
Specialists will use a three pages classroom discipline form for level 1 and level 2 behavior. If a student receives a classroom discipline form, two copies will go to the homeroom teacher and one copy will stay with the specialist. One of the copies should go home and another should stay with the classroom teacher for your records. Behaviors that take place in specials may not necessarily constitute moving from a level 1 to level 2 unless a pattern is indicated from special to special. That's why the the teacher gets the form. Just because a child gets a classroom discipline form in specials and then has a behavior in homeroom does not mean there is an automatic move from level 1 to level 2 or level 2 to level 3. Specialists will handle level 3 behavior like everyone else.
Review your flow chart and manual-Remember level 1 and level 2 behaviors are classroom managed. As the year progresses, students will try rules and our response. Stay positive and follow the consequence flowchart. It may take more effort on the front end but it will be worth it.
