Today is day 1 on the specials calendar
Kindergarten LTM today.
No school Monday for Labor Day Holiday. Enjoy your long weekend.
Staff meeting-Tuesday right after school.
Friday air quality may be Code Orange-Please continue to be cautious as relates to outdoor activity.
Please plan to bring your staff handbook and PBIS handbook to the staff meeting. We will discuss both on Tuesday.
A special thanks to : Our ESL team, Mr. Leak, our custodial staff, our CC's and the media staff for working to get as much of the Reading series catalogued as quickly as possible so the materials can be distributed. I have contacted the Instructional Services division to get direction on when to start. We definitely want to start as school.
I would like to share a poem given to me by Andrea Taylor, our social worker. You will meet her on Tuesday. Enjoy...
"The Other Side of the Desk"
Have you ever thought just a wee little bit,
Of how it would seem to be a misfit,
And how you would feel if YOU had to sit ,
On the other side of the desk?
Have you ever looked a the man who seemed a bum,
As he sat before you, nervous...dumb...
And thought of the courage to took to come,
To the other side of the desk?
Have you thought to yourself of his dreams that went astray,
Of the hard, real fact of his every day,
Of the things in his life that make him stay,
On the other side of the desk?
Have you ever thought to yourself, "It could be I",
If the good things of life had passed me by,
And maybe I'd bluster and maybe I'd lie,
From the other side of the desk?
Did you make him feel he was full of greed,
Make him ashamed of his race or creed,
Or did you reach out to him in his need,
To the other side of the desk?
May God give us wisdom and lots of it,
And much compassion and plenty of grit,
So that we may be kinder to those who sit ,
On the other side of the desk.
