Today is Day 5 on the Specials calendar.
Joint Principal's meeting this morning-Ron away in the am
STAFF MEETING TODAY-3:15-please bring staff handbooks.
Please add these corrections or additions to your September calendar:
Fundraiser kickoff assembly-September 9
September 14-Skate Night
ESL night is Oct 8, not September 24.
Minutes from the SIT meeting will be sent electronically in the next few days. Please see your SIT rep for clarification of the minutes once they are published. SIT meetings will be the Monday prior to the first staff meeting of every month. (next SIT meeting is October 5-all are welcome).
PBS question of the day-Why can't the consequence for cheating (level 2 behavior) be an "F" with the grade of 69 instead of a zero? Is the intent to fail the student or teach them cheating is not acceptable? Research shows that students who receive a zero on an assignment are 50% less likely to pass the class. I agree there should be a consequence, just not a zero. The PBS committee agrees that the intent of any consequence is to discourage the undesired behavior. The committee agrees to change the consequence for cheating on level 2 from zero to a score of fifty (50). We are asking staff to make the changes in your PBS handbook.
Kudos to Mr. Gordon for starting his own blog-"Mr. G's blogspot." It's great. He posts weekly, not daily, posting homework assignments and other important announcements for the week. GREAT JOB, Brian ! If you have started a blog or wiki, please share that info and we will share it others.

Ron, this blogging is so cool -- and Brian's is great too! It made me wonder, after seeing his subject categories for the week, if grade chairs (at least) could publish what the weekly or quarterly plans are for the grade. It would be nice to know what the plan is generally, and for us who try to collaborate as much as we can, it would be fabulous! Great job to both of you, Ron and Brian! Thanks!
