Off to a great Start

Today is Day 1 on the Specials calendar
Kindergarten classes will start specials on Friday
PBS kickoff assembly on Friday. K-2-9:30, 3-5-10:30
Temperature are predicted to reach 90 degrees. No outside activities after noon.
We had a great start to school yesterday. Mrs. Bigham was impressed with everything.
Everyone focused on teaching P.R.I.D.E to all students. Keep it up-Remember it will take repeated modeling and intentional teaching of these expectations. Use the lesson plans provided in your manual. Continue to use opening activities such as student surveys to develop the atmosphere and expectations for your class. Pass out those Den Dollars. Everyone did a great job of getting them out. Remember we want to give students plenty of Den dollars to reinforce our expectations. Our biggest learning curve will be with our behavior as adults. Please review and know staff expectations for things like voice volume, supervision expectations.
PBS question of the day-
What if you discover someone giving their den dollars away? Den dollars are specific for students. Students names are written on the den dollars, no one should be giving blank den dollars or even having students write their names on them unless it is done in your presence. So a student can't spend den dollars with different names. If that fails, den dollars should be considered like real money-give it away and it's gone. Also The "I" in PRIDE stands for integrity. Let's use that situation as a teaching moment.
Procedures concerning copying and supplies will be shared in the next few days. Any suggestions from past experience would be welcome. The main goal is to get teachers what you want when you want it.
Have another great day.
