STAFF MEETING TOMORROW-ALL STAFF
RESCHEDULED STAFF MEETING FOR TUESDAY OCTOBER 26-ALL STAFF
We will begin our Annual United Way pledge drive in a few days. As a staff we have always been generous, please remember that many times our students and families directly benefit from United Way services.
EC updates-I would like to remind everyone of a few expectations for teacher participation with exceptional education students. These expectations are a matter of professional accountability and all us need to be aware of our responsibilities.
Homeroom regular education teachers are expected to attend IEP meetings held for any students in their class. No other meeting should take precedence. By law 10 day notice is given to parents about meetings and EC staff have assured me that teachers get the same type of advance notice. When you are contacted by EC staff about an IEP meeting, put it on your calendar. The only reason a homeroom teacher should have for not attending an IEP meeting should be their absence from school.
If for some reason, a teacher cannot attend an IEP meeting, I expect the teacher to find a suitable colleague to replace them.
Also please bring any data asked for to IEP meetings. Remember, IEP's are a team process-and homeroom teachers provide valuable information to help the IEP determine the best decision for each child.
