Today is day 4 on the specials calendar
Third grade field trip today.
Today you should see a new display in the lobby-Principals' PRIDE PACK. I described the process in an earlier post. You will also get a note to send home with students today.
PBS corner-Trish Gladstone will be at our next staff meeting (March 16). If you have any questions or concerns you would like her to address, please send them to Ron by Monday, March 15.
Staff expectations: Please remember that an expectation for all homerooms teachers is to stand by your doors to greet children as they enter. Many are doing it (thanks) and many are not.(I know you can do it). Please remember that consistency is the key.
Very Important-Please keep one day during the week of March 22-26 open for a potential staff meeting. Betty Weycker, assistant superintendent for technology, will be here hopefully to discuss Parent Assistant. This is a new web based program that gives parents unprecedented access to information that we are expected to provide through NCWISE. This is a mandatory meeting for all staff. You need to hear it as a parent and a staff member. The tentative date is unknown at this time but I should have an answer tomorrow.

Today is day 3 on the specials calendar.
PBS committee meeting after school today
Third grade field trip
Thanks to Mr. Cheek for sponsoring this month's PBS raffle activity-model aircraft show.
WE ARE GROWING-We have had several students enroll since the beginning of the semester. As of yesterday we were at about 778 or so. This unexpected surge of students is really indicative of the growing population of our attendance zone AND the good work we are doing. It is more important than ever that we promote and model the core values of our school to help all of our new Grizzlies learn about PRIDE.
The Open enrollment period for State Health plan begins March 15. There are some very important changes that everyone must understand.
First, everyone will be automatically placed on the 70/30 basic plan. If anyone wants to be on the 80/20 plan, you must complete an attestation form on-line that indicates either you or covered dependents DO NOT smoke or are enrolled in a tobacco cessation program.
Second, enrollment is completely on-line. NO PAPER FORMS. There will be a link on the WSFCS homepage to the enrollment site. WSFCS Human Resources is sponsoring help sessions on next Monday from 4-6pm in the central office auditorium. Another help session will be held April 4, same time and place.
There will be sessions this week devoted to understanding the tobacco cessation requirements this Thursday and Friday from 5-6 in the central office auditorium.
You should also receive info in the mail. Open enrollment ends April 9.

Monday March 8, 2010
Today is day 2 on the specials calendar.
Lesson plans are due for review today. Please turn in a copy today before you leave.
Third grade field trip today.
Mrs. Sawyer is due back today. Let's make her feel welcome.
PBS corner-Here are few items that the PBS committee would like all staff to address:
Trish Gladstone, our district PBS advisor, will be at our next staff meeting on March 16. Many of you may have questions about PBS that the committee members may not be able to answer. Please send those questions to any PBS committee member or Ron by Monday, March 15. We will try to get them answered.
Staff expectations are important to successful implementation. One teacher expectation is to take a quick check in bathrooms after students leave.
All students are expected to have a hall pass whenever they are in the hallway without their classes. Many students have been stopped without hall passes. If you need a hall pass, just inform the office. We have to be consistent if we expect the values students have learned to become natural.
